Summer Music Festival Guide

We spend so much of music festival season prepping outfits for Coachella, but that's only the beginning of festival fashion. We've got you covered head to toe from Lollapalooza to Nocturnal this summer. Read below!

Considered to be the mid-west version of Coachella (some even say better because it's in the city!), this festival is one you wouldn't want to miss. The key is to look fashionable but comfortable due to the crazy Chicago weather including alternating hot and rainy temperatures. We love a flowy top perfect to stay cool throughout the day and still work for when the temperature dies down at night. Because let's face it--no one wants to think about the weather while singing along to The Weeknd's "Earned It." Cut offs are the perfect staple to any festival outfit. Since it could start pouring rain any minute during the festival, we recommend a pair of booties because worst case scenario, you'll be able to dance in the rain with your girlfriends!

Shop the Look:
Chandelier Turquoise Collar Necklace $14 / Antique Coined Bracelet $14 / Sheer Tassel Cold Shoulder Top $32 / Super Light Wash Frayed Denim Shorts $28 / Ridged Sole Zippered Ankle Boots $39 / Drawstring Bucket Bag $43

What's summer without attending at least one EDM music festival? Although we love these festivals, we're over being basic in the traditional tutus and bikini top. We decided to do it 2020AVE way! We recommend beating the heat in a crop top and shorts. Don't forget the flower crown, of course. These festivals are in Southern California, the land of perfect weather, so decking out in gold sandals are definitely encouraged.

Shop the Look:
Bold and Gold Collar Necklace $12 / Wired Cropped Top $22 / Simple Cut Off Shorts $23 / Assorted Jumbo Flower Crown - Peach $19 / Oversized Metal Circle Sunglasses $12 / Jelly Golden Banded Sandals $13

Although the west coast is known for their perfect weather, San Francisco and Seattle are particularly known for their infamous fog and gloom. Despite this weather, the atmosphere for these kind of festivals are one of a kind experiences everyone loves every time. So put away the cut off shorts and bring on the shredded jeans and military jackets! Remember that gloomy weather outfits doesn't have to be boring! Add a pair of fringe ankle boots, a wide-brimmed hat, and a striped crop top to be deemed one of the best dressed underneath that oversized coat!

Shop the Look:
Military Anorak Jacket $52 / Contrast Striped Top $13 / Boho Shield Hand Chain $14 / Side Fringe Ankle Booties $28.99 / Floppy Fedora Hat $27 / Destroyed Cropped Skinny Jeans $58

We couldn't describe FYF Fest any better than what LA already defines itself already--a melting pot of music lovers! Seeing as this is LA's biggest indie music festival, we'll take the boho chic look with a twist of edge, please. We love the thought of wearing a black crochet romper with silver statement pieces. By this time we're over rocking booties to music festivals, so opt for a pair of cushioned sandals so you can jump around during Bloc Party comfortably!

Shop the Look:
Diamond Crochet Romper $29 / Trifecta Chain Fringe Necklace $17.99 / Oversized Metal Circle Sunglasses $12 / Antique Coined Bracelet $14 / Cut Out Barred Cuff $12 / Elastic Banded Slingback Sandals $24

A few little tips to keep sane at these summer music festivals:

Stay Hydrated
It's always a million degrees at these festivals so make sure to always have water with you!

Bring Sunglasses
The sun is shining so bright that no one wants to squint while watching their favorite band

Sunscreen is Vital
No one wants to get sunburnt at a three day festival (save that for your vacation to Miami)

Must Bring Portable Charger
How else will you find your friends and take the best Instagram pictures if your phone is dead?!

Lightweight Scarf
Because a blanket is too heavy and a scarf is perfect to sit and lay on the grass so your outfit doesn't get dirty
